If you were 20, not a student during 2016, and had income of $4050 or more, then your parents cannot claim you as a dependent.

Depends on several factors, your age, and do they provide for you. If you live at home and they support you, they have the right to claim you up to age 25

I do not live at home. I pay rent for my apartment. My mailing address is where my parent lives.

What was your age as of 12/31/2016?  If it was 19 or older, did you have gross income of $4050 or more in 2016?

I was 20 as of 12/31/16 and my income was more than $4050
