My husband did some contract work a couple years ago and received a 1099-MISC for it. He no longer does contract work, hasn't for a couple years, and does not get a 1099-MISC. Every year, Turbo Tax requires me to file the Schedule C, but I'd like to stop doing this as he is no longer planning to do any independent contract work for the forseeable future. How can stop filing this form? I've just reported it as earning $0 income for the last 3 years, but I really just don't want to deal with it at all anymore.

Yes, if you no longer file the Schedule C or 1099-MISC you can remove the forms from the return.
In the event you do not see self-employment in the income summary, select "Check for more income" then "Skip to see all income". Scroll down to "Self-Employment" and click "Revisit". If you see the "Start" button do not click it!
