Can I qualify for the Utah Health Benefit Plan Credit if I was on the exchange for 1 month last year but filed 1040EZ the year before?

For instance, I was looking at the form from last year and the credit for the state asks for the 1040 schedule 2 Line 2.  Looking at my return from last year, I didn't see a schedule 2.  This year I had 1 month of the exchange insurance before getting some better insurance.  Would I qualify for this credit and how would I fill it out?

You may be able to qualify for the Utah Health Benefit Plan Credit.  The Schedule 2 Line 2 is for the Advanced Premium Tax Credit repayments- since you did not have a Schedule 2 for 2019, you can put zero for the amount.  You just need to know how much you paid out of pocket for health insurance. If you entered your 1095-A, TurboTax will do the rest!

You may claim this credit if you purchased your own health insurance and were not eligible to participate in a health benefit plan maintained and funded through an employer or former employer. You do not qualify for this credit if you (or your spouse, if filing a joint return) had the option to get health insurance through an employer or former employer, even if you chose not to use the employer’s plan.
