Can I install TurboTax CD on both PC and Mac for only one license fee?

I had the same experience. Was told to buy an external cd drive or return the software to Costco and get a new copy.

Same experience. Supervisor said she wasn’t going to lose her job by pushing me the alternative OS download.

I was not yelled at nor was I told they were going to lose their job, but was told my only option was to purchase a new download and then she'd send me forms to request I refund for the other one. I don't feel I should have to purchase the product twice and there's no guarantee they'll grant my refund, so I passed on that. She did put me on hold and talked to others, so this seems to be the "standard" answer now. I told her several times that experts on this thread have indicated that Customer Support will provide a new download (even dropped "Daniel" the software specialist's name mentioned above. No luck. And threats to use something different after using TT for over 20 years also did not change the response. I'd say don't bother calling.

It is not necessary to call support at all.   You use " installturbotax.com" and your license code and choose Mac or PC download.

the problem being discussed in this thread that I was responding to was that once you choose Mac or PC and then you buy a new computer with a different operating system, you cannot download for that operating system. The download is for a single operating system. This is counter to the claim that you can install it on up to five computers. The caveat is that if you're using the download function (because none of your computers have a CD drive) you are stuck with one operating system. My work around was to buy a cheap CD drive because I need one occasionally.

When you use  " installturbotax.com" and your license code then it offers both platforms even if you have already installed one.  I tried it and it worked fine, I already had Mac and it added Windows to my account - now I have both - no problem.

Not any more - at least with the download version since the CD I bought form Office depot for business version had bad code in Dec 2021 and would not even install.  So, after downloading for Windows in 2022, I could no longer download a package for a Mac. ... so much for installing on up to 5 of my computers!  Most disappointing.  This used to work just fine to do 2 or 3 returns with Delux.

Advertising is misleading and neither license agreement or download had this warning or restriction.

Dropping the business version and going back to Deluxe or less expensive versions.

Those are obvious and don't work on initial printed CDs.

That software in Dec 2021 was bad so you had to download.

I bought the CD and was forced to download since the software install failed.  Then you are out of luck.  First year in 15 this has happened.  Really sorry tactics by TurboTax this year and false advertising for a 5-user license.

If you have the CD then you do not need a download since the CD contains both Mac and Windows software.
