You can choose how you get your refund. When you go through the filing section of TurboTax it will ask you whether you want direct deposit or a check in the mail. However, if you want to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund you have to use direct deposit.

Yes, if you want to receive a check from the IRS, you need to select that option in TurboTax.

1. Log in to your account.
2. Select File from the left Menu .
3. Go to steps 2 to check the option to receive a check from the IRS.
