Yes, you can file an extension for your 2021 taxes.   If you owe taxes, you still have to pay what you owe.   if you have paid taxes in the past, then you should pay at least what you paid last year to prevent any penalties if you owe when your file.   If you typically get a refund, you do not need to make a payment with your extension.
