Can I file only the state portion of my return using turbo tax?

You can do  your federal and state return in TurboTax, and pay all the fees but would not be able to efile only the state.  You would have to print and mail the state.  It would make more sense to just go to the state website and download the forms and fill them out yourself.  Or go to a local tax preparer and have do your state return.

if you don't e-file your federal return through Turbotax then you will have to mail in the state.  to do the state would require entering all your federal info.
