Can I file for two seperate individuals using Turbotax?

The TurboTax online editions are only for one tax return per account and User ID.  If you want to complete another return with the online editions you would need to create a new account with a new User ID - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/

Yes.  For years I filed my brother's taxes and mine using one edition of Turbo Tax.  You get one free state return, so I think I paid additional to do my brother's state return, probably $20 or so.  And then it costs $20 to file each state return.

I buy the disk and load onto my PC instead of downloading. I wonder if that makes a difference. Years ago I downloaded TT and had problems with the software so I switched to buying the disk.

@JaneEllen7 Yes that is one of the many perks of the download/CD version instead of the online version.
