The form 1099-DIV is generic to the year, and does not have a date associated with it.
- The IRS will assume the dividends were distributed evenly though the year.
- If dividends were distributed very late in the year, and you had an under payment penalty
- You may use the Annualized income method
- This is form 2210
Select Tax Tools
- You may have to minimize both the Federal and State options by clicking the Down Arrows on the Sidebar.
- You will then clearly see Tax Tools
- Click the arrow to up to see additional options
- Once you can work on Tax Tools
- On the drop-down select Tools
- There will be 3 or 4 green boxes
- Select Topics Search
- Type 2210
- Continue through the interview.
