Can i deduct half of what is in box 1 because the borrowers name is in my name and my ex-wife's name and were filling separate returns?

Yes, you can each claim what you each paid. 

In TurboTax your wife will need to select "My name is not on the 1098, or my name isn't the first one listed on the 1098"

and enter your information. 

The IRS will look at your return as well as hers to see if the amount claimed is not more than the amount on the original 1098.
