Can I claim the Earned Income Credit with child being born in Sept 2017?

Our child was born in September, can one of us claim him as the Earned Income Credit? I seen it ask, "Has the child lived with you more than 6 months?"

Can I claim the Earned Income Credit with child being born in Sept 2017?

If the child lived with you for the months after he was born, then you would say that he lived with you for the whole year, in the My Info tab entry for him as a dependent, where it says "lived with me for-- select a time period.A child born at any time during the year counts as an exemption for the full year.  This means you can answer the other questions to determine if you qualify for a head of household filing status and other credits and deductions related to dependents, such as the Earned Income Credit.

This Turbo Tax FAQ has basic information on the Earned Income Credit and when you go through the interview in the software and Turbo Tax will ask the questions to determine if it will help your return.

Thank you for clearing that up! How do I calculate my AGI? I know my Wages on the W2 are $28,824.42. Would I be able to get the EIC?

If you complete the Wages and Income portion of your return and then complete the Earned Income portion in Deductions and Credits, TurboTax will do all the calculations and then review the results at the end of the interview.

Okay, GREAT! Does the tax calculator include the EIC if you say you had a child? Or does just includes the child credit?
