Hello! I got one question about California LLC 568 form. My SMLLC was formed in 2024, and I submitted form 2553 in 2024 November to elect to be taxed as S corp from 1/1/2025, and received approval notice from IRS recently. I am currently working on CA 568 form for 2024 LLC return. In CA 568 form, it is asking if this is the Initial filing or Final filing. It looks like for my situation, it will be both my initial filing (it is first year established) and also final filing (since I will not file 568 next year as S corp). TT does not allow me to select both Initial and Final. And if I choose Initial, TT will generate the 3522 LLC tax voucher and 3566 LLC fee voucher for me to pay in 2025. While my SMLLC was LLC in 2024, I believe I should not be paying LLC tax in 2025 since it will be taxed as S corp from 2025.
Please advise what may I do? Should I choose Initial or Final filing in CA 568? Thanks! Your advices are very appreciated.

LLCs have to file the 568 regardless of their tax classification so you should go ahead and file/pay 2025. You should indicate that it is the first year.
See Limited liability company - Franchise Tax Board - CA.gov.
Thanks for reply but I am confused. I am filing CA 568 for CA LLC 2024 operation. From 2025, it will be taxed as S corp. So I will not file CA 568 next year for 2025 LLC return, instead I should file CA 100S, right? And I have used 100-ES and paid $800 franchise tax for the 2025 S corp.
Below is what I read:

Further advice is appreciated. thanks!
Yes, you are correct. File the final Form 568 this year. Next year, you'll file Form 100S instead.
