Once you have the box for putting in the control numbers, just enter them. They will not show, but it will accept the coding. Then in the box asking if you want to activate TT enter yes. This was how I was able to get TT 2021 to work. Good luck
New Windows 11 machine had same problem. Using factory installed intel graphics adapter with latest updates installed.
Resetting scaling allowed screen to show but it could not be updated. Went to 800x600 resolution with same result. Closed and reopened TT and got blank screen. I noticed cursor would change as I moved around on the screen so I guessed where the input field would be and entered the code in the blind, then clicked lower right corner. Characters did not show up, but (surprisingly) the software activated!
I have had no issues on any other applications, and TT seems to be working fine once I got past the activation screen. I consider this a Turbotax issue that you folks need to resolve.
BLANK SCREEN on Activation
First of all, don't change your normal resolution YET. Verify your scaling is at 100%. Clear your cache and cookies and reboot your computer. Re-open TurboTax. Now, when you see the blank box, change the display to 600/800. Go back to TT, you should see the activation bar now. Move your mouse over the bar to input the License Code - DO NOT click. The mouse should change from a hand/arrow to an "I" over the bar. Now, left-click once. Important: BLINDLY type in the License Code in with the dashes very carefully YOU WILL NOT SEE ANYTHING happen, but it is typing. Then click activate. It may take a few seconds to do something. After it accepts the LC you should be able to put scaling and resolution back to normal.
This is a screen resolution issue predominantly with laptops and can take hours to determine the perfecta combination of which screen resolution to scaling that will work. So, the above work around can take a few hours off of your attempts.

changed resolution activation screen still blank
You didn’t mention if you followed those instructions exactly. But, here’s the other work around:
make sure all the settings are back to normal on resolution. Start 125% scailing
open TT
NEVER close the activation screen
open notepad
type the code in notepad without the dashes
change screen scaling to 100%
u will now see the normal activation screen however it will not let u click anywhere
copy the code from note pad.
click just once on the activation box
Paste (CNTRL V) the code (CODE WILL NOT SHOW)
change screen scaling back to 125%
click on activate TT
Will open within 5 mins
If doesn’t open in 5 mins, do a quick 125% to 100% to 125% scailing
I don;t know how you did this, did not work on my machine and when I contacted the support line a lovely lady told me they've changed the get state screen this year and it will take you no further. Not sure why that was done, with no information on the screen-just a blank window-but I am going to wait until the second week of January to see if the fix is in that download. I was able to get a reasonable estimate of what 2021 taxes will be so mission accomplished but turbotax should be a whole lot less buggy at this point and needs better communication within the program, not an army of volunteers.
I managed to get activation after changing scaling and numerous resolution changes which is ridiculous.
I still have a Blank screen if I click on Start Stae or I try to search for a topic a Blank Help screen.
(New Samsung Book 360, Windows 11, and all drivers updated.)
Program is unusable like this.
the word I got from support is wait until the update around second week in January but calling their support line may help amp up their sense of urgency...
I agree. All the suggested fixes don't seem to work for me. Why is this a continuing problem for so many users??
Don't understand why, but I was successful following your directions! The Geek Squad gave up after 3 hours!
Thank you!!
How do you reset scaling on windows 10 laptop?
Go to Settings>System>Display then look for "Scale and Layout". You should find a dropdown that will let you change the scale.
I have tried the scaling and resolution suggestions, every possible size it seems, still just get a blank activation screen. Really BAD START!!
Oddly, this is true. I went through many iterations, including with TTax Support who couldn't resolve it, and the one way that it seemed to finally work is to put the activation code in notepad, copy that and then when you finally get the activation screen up (which you can't type into still), then right click paste into the inaccessible field. It must have somehow taken all the while invisible, then when I closed that box it went to the personal info page. Dumbest thing I've ever seen, they are using 30 year old software to write this. The installshield installer is perhaps even older than that.
