I used TurboTax Deluxe (online) to complete my taxes this year, and finished everything in February except for submitting electronically. I was planning to submit today, and TurboTax now tells me I need to upgrade to Premium because Deluxe doesn't support Schedule D. I have already finished everything including Schedule D using Deluxe (I have downloaded a PDF that includes the completed Schedule D). I already paid for Deluxe ($84) back in February, but now TurboTax wants $200 for Premium. So, the cost has increased 2.5X just to file electronically because of one additional form? That price jump is crazy and frankly insulting, and it's ridiculous this wasn't disclosed up front. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with a support person, but the best they could do was offer a 20% discount. I entered the code she sent via email, and it said it was accepted, but no discount was applied, so I ended up paying the full non-discounted amount because I'm just done with TurboTax at this point and will use a different solution going forward, most likely FreeTaxUSA. F-you Intuit, you should be ashamed.
