If I could screen shot what I have, you could see that they DO, in fact, show different screens to different people. Their “Charge to a card” option needs to clarify that the extra $39.99 will Not be charged. Your screen shot was most helpful, Volvogirl! Thank you! Your explanation about choosing "Charge to a card” I think, is the answer I’ve been looking for! 🙂
@Lani Bear sorry to bother you but if you are still around, is this the screen you see? I haven't seen this one yet but another user Critter just posted this one
Best thing is not to use TurboTax. The government offers a similar program free!
That's a pretty snarkey thing to do. I will not be using TurboTax next year because of the hidden fees you have imposed at the very end of my filing.
I filed my taxes on March 6th. I received my federal and state refund in my account. But, I had to pay Turbo Tax $221.90 to file them. I heard that turbo tax is refunding anyone that used Turbo Tax to file 2019 taxes. Is this tire?
I paid $50 for the turbo tax program. Now they want to charge $40 fee to process so I am paying $90 plus $24.99 for state paying total ~$115 for standard filing. It is cheaper to have someone do it for you.
The $40 processing fee is only if you want the state efile fee deducted from your refund. You can pay the $25 efile fee with a credit card or print and mail the State for free.
To remove the extra fee go back through the File tab slowly and watch what you click on. There is one screen that can trick you up.
How to get to the credit card option?
Go back through the File tab and look for the screen I posted above.
