So i applied for a stimulus check because I thought I was eligible and I honestly had never done taxes in my life. My parents have this tax guy that they go to for their taxes, and he reviewed my files that I sent him regarding my state and federal taxes, and said that it was fraudulent because I put a different address on the tax form, and he couldn’t amend it and now wants nothing to do with that at all. The reason why I put a different address is because I’m currently living with my girlfriend at her parents house. I’m worried for myself and the possibility of owing the IRS money for a mistake that I made when I was and still am 16.

The IRS will correct the mistake regarding the stimulus- if you do receive it just be sure to send it back immediately. You did not knowingly file it and you tried to correct it so as I said, if they send it be sure to return it immediately.
