Turbo Tax Premier 2024, when I go to...
Wages and Income/I'll choose what I work on/
then Selecting the Update button for either Interest or Dividends ....the resulting
window shows BOTH interest and dividends with the title
"Let’s finish pulling in your investment income".
This is a very ugly interface as opposed to tabular ( with Edit and Delete next to each investment/or bank) format than in previous years.
Each investment is displayed in a large box. If you have a LOT of 1099's and having
the investments displayed in this format is confusing and also the fact that BOTH
interest and dividends are displayed in this window. I'm wondering WHY this
change was made, as the previous years list was specific to either interest or dividends
and was much more concise.

I'm not aware of a way around it. However, I'll forward your feedback. Thank you!
you don't love the new interface? Neither do I. I would almost prefer a skunk that didn't have certain glands removed.
There are desktop versions of Turbotax that have forms mode. Use the view tab and select forms. This allows you to enter your tax info in a worksheet or Turbotax form without going around in circles. however, this requires some knowledge of the proper forms to use (for example on the forms tab - select open form. the search box opens. type 1099-INT. you'll see 1099-INT listed. click on it twice and follow the instructions you see) warning: certain questions that you would see in step mode may never be asked.
however once done with forms mode you can switch back to step mode and go thru everything. click on "ok" or " continue" as needed. "update" is only if changes need to be made. One more advantage of the desktop version is that at any time you can use 'print preview' to see everything you've done without having to pay a Turbotax fee.
mixes in 1099-B also. It's a huge disaster, unnecessary and also buggy e.g. if you try to delete a 1099 having scrolled down the screen goes grey and there is a Yes/No you have to scroll back up for; conversely if you edit a 1099 down the bottom it takes you back to the top and you have to scroll back down to do the edits.
I'll be in forms mode a lot this year - and avoiding anything to do with import which seems to be a glitchy mess this year also - hopefully survivable, but will be considering alternatives for 2025.
if anyone from TT is listening to litany of complaints about quality of TT this year, see the long thread on this topic here
