Amending

First and foremost let me start by saying I completely do not understand taxes or anything tax related so this is a very uneasy topic for me and I ask before hand that whom ever answers my question can answer it thoroughly, very specific and her precise! Please explain it as best as possible. 

A friend did my taxes for my which resulted in a overly expected payout amount, realizing this can’t be correct I opted in amending my return - mean while this is from 2022 I have asked for help and nobody acts as if they can help me fix this. 
I am amending the return and disposed/ deleted anything that did not pertain to me or my W2s now I am towards the final pages and it is saying 

TOTAL PAYMENTS -$20,546

if I go down and continue to read it also says 

“over payment from your most recently filed return” -$21,159 

TORAL AMENDED AMOUNT OWED $20,546 

I did NOT receive any payout from this tax year filed (2022) so I am confused why it will say I owe or anything is - (negative) I don’t understand, it’s been two years I still cannot figure this out, I have reached out to customer service as well as alternative tax sites (turbo tax and Jackson Hewitt) to ask for help and yet nothing. If something can walk me through or explain why I am seeing this when I deleted the credit and how I fix it ?!? Thanks

Since you don't understand anything about taxes, I think the best thing for you to do would be to go to a tax preparer  (H&R Block or Jackson Hewitt) and explain the situation to them rather than trying to do it by yourself.

Alternatively you could sign up for TurboTax live assist or for the "let us do the taxes for you"  product.

If you are needing to amend a 2022 tax return then Turbo Tax can’t help you.  They only have the live expert service for the current year 2024.  Did your friend use Turbo Tax to do your 2022 return?   Are you using the 2022 Desktop program to amend?   I think you should take your return and all your paperwork and tax forms to a local tax place in person to figure it out.
