Amended return

Yesterday (4/4/23) I elec filed my FED and state return.  I owe tax and setup for direct withdraw from bank for 4/18/23.  Today, 4/5/23, I amended my return.  It was elec filed.  I still owe taxes.  Will my original bank and withdraw date be used and pay my taxes on 4/18/2023?

It depends.  You should have waited until the original return was fully processed through the IRS before amending.  Now you will just have to wait to see what happens.  The amended return  could be processed first then that document will establish the account.  It is a guessing game at this point.  However, do not submit anything else.  Allow IRS to get back to you if necessary.  You can monitor your bank accounts to see if payments are withdrawn.
