Amended return cant efile

Has anyone successfully efiled an amended return. I get a message saying I cant efile because I didn't efiled my original return. I did efile the original return  2 months ago and received a refund for that  processed efile return. I open that same IRS processed efile and do an amended return, and when I go to file the amended return turbo tax will not let me do it  because it says I haven't efiled the original and says I have to mail it. Talked with customer service which was worthless.
