How do I go about to amend my taxes?

just go into search and enter amend a return. Be aware it will have to be mailed in and can't be efiled.

The IRS is probably 8-10 months behind in processing that.

If your e-filed return is pending, you will not be able to make any changes until it is accepted or rejected by the IRS. After that, you can amend your return. Please see How to amend (change or correct) a return you've already filed for more information.
