How can you change the amounts shown on the estimated tax vouchers for Federal and State without a W4?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
The links below have instructions to update your estimated payment voucher. The w-4 goes to your employer for withholding on your paychecks.
Estimate next year's federal taxes
Estimate next year's state taxes
You can line amounts printed on the forms and enter your own amount.
Or you can go back to the estimated taxes section and redo the estimates.
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home & Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Under Other Tax Forms
On W-4 and estimated taxes, click on the start or update button. Just continue past the W-4 section to get the estimated tax section.
I'd like for TurboTax to print my estimated tax vouchers correctly if possible.
One of my banks has agreed to increase my Federal and State withholding amounts. So the amounts entered from their 1099-INT for 2023 is different from what it will be in 2024. Therefore, decreasing what my 2024 est. tax vouchers should show.
While TurboTax does allow you to change income, deductions, and credits for the new year for the sake of accurately determining what your estimated tax should be, it doesn't seem to provide a place to change what you expect your withholding amounts will be. Unless I missed it.
If all else fails, you can download and print your own 1040-ES forms.
Yes. I could just use "Override" on the values in TurboTax forms to alter them. But, I was just wanting to make sure there wasn't a cleaner way to do it.
