AGI keeps getting rejected. Had filed previous years jointly while married. Filed on my own for the first time ever 2024. Rejected, Because of AGI, Error. Correct number

I have pulled the correct numbers from previous tax year. But it keeps getting rejected. I’ve been rejected three times now. My tax is very simple now that I am single, TurboTax has been useless to with any support at this point.

Turbotax can't help because it's the IRS computers that are rejecting your return even when you've entered the proper AGI. if you tried zero or the option never previously filed, if available, then it's likely you'll have to mail it.

there only other step you can take is to contact the IRS to see if they can explain the issue.

Call 800-829-1040
1) Choose your language,
2) Then choose option 2
3) Then 1
4) Then 3
5) Then 2
6) When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN do nothing – wait - - After it asks twice, you will get another menu
7) Then 2
😎 Then 3

It should then transfer you to an agent. Note when its phone line are busy you may be on hold for a long while or disconnected

I have pulled the correct numbers from previous tax year. But it keeps getting rejected. I’ve been rejected three times now. My tax is very simple now that I am single, TurboTax has been useless to with any support at this point.

If your 2023 return was a joint return, for the first efile attempt one would normally use the full AGI from 2023, without dividing it; i.e., the amount on your 2023 Form 1040, Line 11.  It should be from the original 2023 return (not an amended one, if any.)

I assume that's what you tried, so if you received an AGI efile rejection, you can now try using a 2023 AGI of 0 (zero) to see if that works.    The 0 works especially if the return was filed real late in the year; i.e., too late to get into the IRS database.    At other times no one knows the reason it doesn't match the IRS database, but trying AGI of 0 often works.
