after filling out info re gambling winnings it does not show up as income why?

Make sure you are not looking under Business Income. It should be included on Line 8 of your Form 1040. Preview Form 1040 in TurboTax Online.

Use Forms Mode if you are using the desktop software. Do you see it on Line 8?
