What is a form RI-1040NR? Is that something that’ll be mailed to me? What is NR Schedule II? Thanks. This regards a RI tax return

The RI-1040NR is a Rhode Island Nonresident tax form. If you live in another state but had income from Rhode Island sources, you would need to file the RI-1040NR. The Schedule II allocates the Rhode Island income, and calculate the tax due to Rhode Island.
Is the 1040 something that I fill out independently or that gets sent to me?
If you had filed RI-1040NR last year, it might be mailed to you, depending on Rhode Island’s policy.
You can also file it when using TurboTax, although the form is tentatively scheduled for use in TurboTax on February 11, 2021. Please see the TurboTax Help article State forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products for future updates.
You can also print and file your own return. You can find Rhode Island forms on the Division of Taxation’s Forms page.
Form RI-1040NR, Nonresident Individual Income Tax Return, is used by part-year residents and nonresidents to file returns.
