After completing my taxes using TurboTax Desktop 2023, I receive a message regarding my Federal Return stating "This return has certain forms that can't be e-filled, usually because of tax regulations, so you'll need to print and file by mail."
If I remove the business (which deletes the corresponding forms the primary being the Schedule C), then I am able to get past the e-filing selection screen and it has no problems.
I know that I have filed previous taxes with a Schedule C and e-filing was not a problem. Could this be a bug in the TurboTax Desksop software or can you truly no longer e-file with a Schedule C?

Does your return include a Form 8995-A Qualified Business Income Deduction? If so, that would prevent e-filing since that form is not scheduled to be finalized until 01/24/2024.
Go to this TurboTax website for forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...
Thank you for your quick response. My return shows just an 8995, not an 8995A.
Then, if there are no other forms in your federal tax return that need to be finalized there is no reason why you cannot e-file the tax return.
You will have to contact TurboTax support to report this problem.

i am having the same problem with my home and business desktop. I have filed these forms in previous years and there were no problems. I've updated and did a manual update. its like every year there is a problem with the desktop?
There are forms that are not ready for filing yet and if your tax return contains one of those forms, you won't be able to file until the form is ready. You can check this link to access the Forms Availability Tool to see if and when forms are available. The message is normal for this time of year.
On January 8, 2024, the IRS released a notice describing many changes required to implement the Secure Act 2.0. Section 601 of the Secure Act 2.0 refers specifically to Simple and SEP Roth IRAs. These forms affect Schedule C filers. Check back later this week; filing season just opened today.. @Van28
Hi DawnC
As stated, all my forms are e-file illegible, and I don't have any Simple and SEP Roth IRAs in return or tax documents. This looks like a programing issue again. Every year I purchase the desktop version of Turbo Tax Home and Business and have e-filing issues that are related to programing.
I was just on phone with a TT specialist who attached to my screen and verified there were no issues with the forms being submitted for e-file. Is there a resolution for this issue?
This problem has been resolved. The latest update (1/31/2024) will allow efile with Schedule C. Mine was processed this afternoon.
