The irs keeps declining my tax return because it’s saying that a different account has been made with the same social security number and I’m not sure how to fix it. Please help?

Your best bet is to call them.  Be prepared to give them all your personal info, then tell them your problem.  Ask them to either 1) correct one of the numbers that is wrong, after all, it is your personal info, or 2) ask them to reset your account number that is associated with your SS#.  Then you can proceed with your process of sending info to them; this time with a corrected or new account #.

This error message can be the result of a "tax return" being filed by someone else. Did you do your own taxes for 2018 or were they prepared by someone else? If they were prepared by someone else, it is possible a blank form for 2019 . was accidently e-filed. I doubt you will be able to talk to a live person about this right now, but you might try going to the IRS website and look at your account to see if a  2019 tax return has been filed in your name. At any rate, you have until to get the return filed.

I need some **bleep** help since NOBODY is trying to help me at ALL!! This is utterly ridiculous, I filed my taxs lat year with turbo tax and I chose to get my refund on a turbo card from green dot, well My taxes got intercepted so I never activated the card and threw it away. Now my effing stimulus money is on that card/account that wasnt even active.. tell me how the hell that happens?!! I need some **bleep** help please. Now I do have an active card from the previous year that I have been using and paying fees, atm fees etc.. this is a debacle! Can some body help me please. I am getting **bleep** because I keep getting boinced around from green dot automated system to turbos automated system! How is there not enough people to talk to from both establishments! No escalation numbers no major issue numbers its just like you got my money so **bleep** me now, right! Ive been calling for 3 days now! Just to make this clear I even got a email from turbo tax stating my stimulus money will be direct deposited to my turbo card but its a totally different account number (last 4) than the card I am currently using! You people need to do something about this, this is the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life!
