3rd stimulus information in Turbotax

Last year I messed up my taxes and didn't qualify for a 3rd stimulus. I filed an amended return and after that I did qualify. The IRS accepted my amended return in Sept. I have not seen a stimulus check. The IRS website says I can claim a rebate but can't find anything in Turbotax.

Can I claim this in turbotax?

Yes.

When you reach the end of guided tax preparation in TurboTax the system will ask you if you received the 3rd economic impact payment. You will say that you did not and the system will add $1400 to your refund. You will see it appear on line 30 of form 1040.

The 3rd Stimulus payment didn't go on your 2020 return. And it's too late for the IRS to use 2020 to send it to you now. You claim it on your 2021 return. It is really based on 2021 not 2020. It will be the Recovery rebate credit on line 30.
