Helping my daughter. She was a dependent on my return in 2020. I received the 3rd stimulus check, and it included her. However, now she is an adult and filing her 2021 taxes on her own. The software is asking if she received a stimulus check. She did not, but I did. If she says no, the software adds $1400 to her return. If she says yes, the software then asks if her Letter 6475 matches the amount ($1400). She did not receive a Letter 6475, because she did not receive the payment. Her payment is on my letter. Should she say she received the payment, because the amount is on our Letter 6475? Should she say she did not receive the stimulus? This would mean we received too much. Thank you for the help.

She says NO she didn't get it, you did. She can get it now for herself. That's legit.
Thank you for the quick response.
Then do I have to report that we received it on our return in order to return the amount we received?
I don't want to run into a situation of delaying her return or getting audited.
It will ask how much you got, so include it. That's just to see if you qualify for any more. You don't have to pay it back.
