Using Desktop 2025 Home and Business, I was entering 1099-R data. Box 1 asks for the gross distribution. Box 14 asks for state tax withheld. When I type in that amount, I get an error message saying that the amount of the state tax withheld cannot be more than the gross distribution amount. It is NOT, by about $9,000! It appears that Box 14 cannot read Box 1. I called the Turbotax helpline; the lady was very nice, but couldn't figure out the problem. She had me waiting for someone else to join the call, and after15 minutes of that, I'd had enough. She did mention that others in this community were having the same problem. Hope they fix it soon.

Is there an amount in box 16 for the state distribution amount? If not, enter the amount from box 1 in box 16.
I did that. It didn't matter, the error message wouldn't go away. I also called Turbotax help; the lady was very perplexed, and waited for a techie guy to join our call, but I finally got tired of waiting.
