2024 Form 1040 Line 6 Earlier Year Lump-Sum Social Security Worksheet problem

The worksheet sub-category "Earlier Year Tax Return Smart Worksheet" Line D will not accept any input. It has obtained information from my 2023 TurboTax program, yet highlights the entry in RED and won't accept it's own entry, even if I override that entry with retyping the data. So now I have a error preventing the ability to complete the program.  THIS HAS GOT TO BE A TURBOTAX SOFTWARE PROBLEM or what? The program won't let me finish the work. What do I do now?

In FORMS mode, when you're viewing the worksheet with the red entry, click on ERRORS at the top left, next to 'Open Form'.

Then look at the bottom of the form where TurboTax will tell you what the Error is.  

Or, hover your cursor over the amount and if you get a Magnifying Glass, this will take you to the source of the entry.

Otherwise, you may want to Delete this form, and step through the Social Security interview section again to see if it repopulates the worksheet correctly.
