I have to still mail in my 2018 and 2019 and am in the process. Could this be the reason that my e-filing for 2020 will not go through due to my 2019 AGI? Can I still e-file 2020 while mailing in my 2018 and 2019 taxes?

Yes, since you haven't filed you 2018 and 2019 tax return please try entering 0 as your AGI.

Thank you. I'll try it.
Aloha,

I thought it went through, but I just received another rejected Federal and State email. : ( Still could use some assistance, please. I hope I do not have to mail it in.
You used the zero AGI and it rejected. The IRS may have filed a Substitute Tax Return for you. You can get a transcript and see what the IRS has for your AGI at Welcome to Get Transcript.
I was finally able to get the transcripts. Do I use the Tracking ID number to finalize my 2020 e-filing?
Aloha Ron
The only applicable number is the adjusted gross income. If there is not one showing for 2019, then zero should be the AGI used to file your 2020 return.
Keep getting rejected with error code IND-031-04. Tells me my AGI for 2019 is incorrect. It is correct as I verified it on the IRS website with the transcript. This is ridiculous!

See this TurboTax FAQ on how to find your AGI

You can get free 2019 tax transcript from the IRS
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
If you filed late last year there is a good chance that the 2019 AGI never was entered into the e-file database. Try using 0 (zero) for the AGI.
If you filed an amended return use the AGI on the first filed tax return.
If it continues to reject then the AGI in the IRS database might be in error. Mail filing is the only option.
