2020 1098-T Entry

Turbo Tax has an entry of $0 for "Tuition and enrollment fees" which is incorrect. When I click on the blue "Tuition and enrollment fees" it indicates the following:

Tuition and Fee Expenses

This number includes the total amount of tuition and related fee expenses (such as student fees, attendance fees, enrollment fees or assessment fees) that you paid to your school in 2020.

Note: You entered this number in earlier.

To my knowledge, I didn't enter the number earlier and if so, I need to know how to correct it.

Try returning to the entry where Form 1098-T is reported by doing a search for 1098t. Then, click the Jump to link.

For more details, see: Where do I enter Form 1098-T?

It is better to enter Form 1098-T last, after entering other education related details, such as Form 1099-Q for Section 529 distributions or Form 1098-E for student loan interest paid.

I was able to enter the correct information via the "Forms" option of Turbo Tax. Once I completed the student worksheet, 1098-T, form 8863, etc. it populated the required forms with the correct information in the step by step option. As a result I was able to take advantage of the "Lifetime Learning Credits".
