A 1040 and 1040SR are identical.   The only difference is the size of the print.   The lines are numbered the same way and the calculations are done exactly the same way.   If the date of birth you enter in My Info indicates that you were 65 or older at the end of 2020 then the software will use a 1040SR for your return.

 

  If you start entering data in this software you are preparing a Form 1040.   Please look at it so you will know what you are sending to the IRS:

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
