1099q

I am a student and have a 1099-Q distribution but it's all being used for qualified education expenses. How do I still use the free edition? I'm trying to input the 1099-Q but it wants me to upgrade to the deluxe edition.

No. The IRS says if the entire Q was used for room and board and education expenses, it should not be entered.  You do not need to upgrade since you don't need to enter the form. You should keep it with your tax files along with your proof that the expenses were covered.

IRS Publication 970, Tax Benefits for Education states that nontaxable distributions should not be entered.
