1099NEC vs 1099 MISC

My property manager sent me a 1099NEC for total rents received. Shouldn't he be sending me a 1099 MISC instead?

Yes, rental income and royalties should be reported on the 1099-MISC. The 1099-NEC is for payment of services.

You can ask him to make a correction and retract the 1099-NEC and issue the 1099-MISC.
