I received a 1099G from Maryland for a 2024 refund. I didn't make any money in Maryland or live in Maryland during 2025. I'm actually a resident of a different state. Do I now need to file a 2025 state return for Maryland because of this 1099G or is this form only used to determine if any of the 2024 refund is taxable by the Federal government for 2025? I'm just trying to confirm that I do not need to file a Maryland return for 2025. Thanks!

No, you do NOT need to file a Maryland tax return. You should, however, include it on your Federal tax return to see of it's taxable.
"If you are a nonresident, you are NOT required to file a Maryland return if: You had no income from Maryland sources."

Form 1099G is an information return required by the IRS. The form is filed by the states for state income tax refunds issued to taxpayers for an amount greater than $10 and who itemized on their federal return for the previous calendar year.
