I received 2 difference 1099-R from Merrill Lynch for my 401k account I previously had; they both have different distribution codes and one has federal tax withheld and the other doesn’t. My question is when I get on here to do my taxes, do I enter both of them in?

Yes, you will enter both 1099R as they are reported on the forms. To enter:

  1. Go to federal>wages and income>all income
  2. Retirement plans and Social Security>show more
  3. Ira (401K), pension plan Withdrawals(1099R) Start
  4. Go through the interview and then enter the first 1099R.
  5. After you have entered the first one completely, you will reach a summary page.
  6. Here is where you can enter the second 1099R
