Same I’m using someone else this year. Screw turbo tax they have declined in quality year after year. I’m done.
It’s been over three weeks and not resolved. Looks like you have no intention of fixing the problem.
This is where the link the TurboTax experts have shared takes me. I should also note that I've followed the instructions provided and spent hours wrestling with this and it simply does not work. Can't fix my 1099s, can't file, can't see the link shared by the experts in the forums.
I know the CS folks have to deal with a lot of angry folks and don't have a lot of power, but taxes are stressful in the best of times. I request that TurboTax helps other filers by telling them about this problem up front, before they spend hours and hours wrestling with the system and thinking they're insane and wasting time trying to get support from the bot or phone support agents (who I talked to multiple times and never mentioned that there was a problem with 1099 NECs, incidentally).
If you are filing with TurboTax online, let's do these steps:
In TurboTax online,
1. Sign into your account, select Pick up where you left off
2. Select Tax Tools, click on the drop down arrow
3. Select Tools
4. Under Other helpful links, choose Delete a form
5. Select Delete next to Form 1099-NEC and Continue with My Return
One of the most common reasons you receive Form 1099-NEC (Form 1099-MISC in prior years) is if you're self-employed or did work as an independent contractor during the previous year. The IRS refers to this as “non employee compensation.” If you do not receive this form, you do not need to report it.

This has nothing to do with what I'm experiencing 🤔
Enter it as Self Employment income as Sch C. You'll answer a few more questions but since you don't have any expenses the end result is the same....minus the error! 🙂

You may have to delete the form and re-enter it so you can tie it to your spouse's income instead of yours. Here is how:
How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?
Here is a TurboTax article about form 1099-NEC.
I was able to get past this issue by skipping the "review" part of the process and clicking continue.
I may not be using Turbotax next year.....there is no excuse for this poor programming.

@thegeoguy
Thank you! There was a "phantom" 1099-NEC added, and this view allowed me to delete it.
I am also having the same problem, after 1 hour spent on the phone with a representative, he couldn't fix it, so he created a case number which they will try to fix within the next few days. Hoping that this could be fixed asap.
Same issue with 1099-NEC. I am filing jointly. My spouse is the one with the 1099-NEC, but it insist I put my name in. It will not me complete unless I do. I have tried deleting the 1099-NEC, getting out of the program, then re entering the 1099-NEC with his name. All is well until the end, when it has me review and once again says I have the wrong name in there. I am not willing to pay for assistance on line when the issue is with the program and not me
Entering the Form 1099-NEC directly through a specific Schedule C will match the ownership of that Form 1099-NEC to the taxpayer who runs the Schedule C business and solve the issue of trying link a Form 1099-NEC to a specific Schedule C business.
Try going back to the section where you entered the Form 1099-NEC if you entered it on its own and delete that entry. Use these steps:
This will bring you to the summary of all Form 1099-NEC that you have entered. Click Delete or the trash can icon next to each one.
Next, you will re-enter the Form 1099-NEC as part of the Schedule C so that the income is reported directly as part of the Business Income and Expenses and within the correct form and section of your return.
Use these steps to go to the Schedule C section of your return.
If you already have a Schedule C in your return for your spouse's self-employed business, edit it and go to the section to Add Income. This is where you will re-enter the Form 1099-NEC.
If you do not already have a Schedule C in your return, follow the prompts and enter the information about your spouse's work/business for which they received the Form 1099-NEC. Then continue through that section to Add Income and enter the Form 1099-NEC plus any other income received for that self-employed business.
