1099-misc from college - why is it recorded as a business?

Hello,

My kid is a full time college student. He worked part time at kohl's and Lowes (got W2s). He was also President of the student Gov't, and they paid him and gave him a 1099-misc. I enter it into turbotax, and the dozen or so descriptions don't fit so I choose "none of the above". For some reason, it treats this as business income. Last year it was the same, and TT made it "other nonemployee compensation), which makes more sense. So I'm at a loss at what to do here.

How much was it and what box is the amount in ?  3 or 7 ?
