1099-K Errors -- I've been messing with this for 2 hours now

TurboTax -- Please FIX your software!   I entered a simple 1099-K from ebay under the Income section.   All Personal Items were sold at a loss, which is how I answered the TT question, but Form 1040 Schedule 1 (which is the form the irs website says should be used) never populates.   Then, I get all sorts of errors that I have to bypass.   If I answer the question "Some items were sold at a loss", then I have to list each transaction and how much it was sold at and TT incorrectly reports this on a N/A form.   Tired of giving TT my money for all this hassle and I've already paid and now I can't get my E-file completed.

1099-K Errors -- I've been messing with this for 2 hours now

It can be fixed by using the steps below. First you should remove the 1099-K from your return and next you can take the steps below to enter it and remove it. The reason you can do this is because, if I understand your comments, you sold every single item at a loss. The key is that your tax return is accurate and complete based on your situation.

First delete your 1099-K from your return --Keep it with your tax return with notes should you need it later--.

  • If you're using TurboTax Online software and need to delete a form, click here.
  • If you're using TurboTax Desktop software and need to delete a form, click here.

Next, enter the income following the steps below.

Other Miscellaneous Income:

  1. Sign into your TurboTax Online account
  2. Go to Tax Home (left panel)  Wages and Income  section
  3. Scroll to  Less Common Income > Select  Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
  4. Select Other reportable Income > Enter a description such as 1099-K Personal Items and the amount on your form
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 description should be 'cost of personal items sold' or similar description, then enter a negative amount (-100 as example)
