i moved states a few years ago and last year sold some stocks through stockpile, and had forgotten to update my address when i moved
my 1099-b was issued to my old state, even though i sold the stocks while living in my new state
do i have to get it fixed to the new state? i'm not sure what to do, and i'm kind of scared of getting in trouble for it

No problem. File only in your current state of residence.
so i file in my state of residence, but do i need to have the 1099-B i receive corrected to reflect my current state of residence?
or does it not matter which state it's issued to as long as i file it to my state of residence?
sorry, anxiety issues, never had to do this before so i have a lot of questions and need to make sure i'm doing it right!
Correct. You don’t have to change anything.
The mailing address on your 1099-B does not determine your state of residence or what state you have to pay tax to. It's just the address that they mailed the form to.
You need the 1099 B to report the sale of the stock.
I recommend that you either call the financial company or access their website and you may be able to get it that way.
Hope this helps.
