My house is on my grandfathers name and I’m not on the loan. He took the house out for me and I pay the mortgage and it comes out of my bank account.

Can I claim the 1098 mortgage deduction on my taxes even though I’m not on the loan and the 1098 is not on my name but I pay the mortgage and my grandfather told me to claim it ?

No, you cannot claim the mortgage interest as you are not the owner of the home and your name is not on the loan. This is even if you actually paid the mortgage.
