1098-T

I have received 2 1098-T, from two different schools.  My parents are claiming me on their taxes.   Can they use one of the 1098-t and I use the other on my own taxes?

1098-T

If you attended 2 schools, you would receive 2 forms 1098-T.

If your parents claim you as their dependent, only they can claim your education credits. They will enter both forms 1098_T on their tax return.

You as a dependent cannot claim education credits.

The following is an extract of an IRS document:

Who can claim a dependent's education expenses.   If a student is claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return, all qualified education expenses of the student are treated as having been paid by that person. Therefore, only that person can claim an education credit for the student. If a student is not claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return, only the student can claim a credit.
