My 20251040-SR form, with a refund due, was accepted electronically by the IRS on February 1. As of today, 13 May, I have not received a refund. My refund status has been on received status since February and there is currently no way for me to make an appointment or contact the IRS. So I checked my return for errors yesterday and found that the section that asks if we lived in the US for more than half of 2025 was not checked. I don't remember being asked that question when I completed my return back in February. I started an amendment today to find out if that question would come up, and it did not, so I canceled the amendment. What can I do? Any help will be appreciated.

The box on the top of the first page for main home was in the US is not important and only affects a few things like to qualify for the EIC earned income credit. All you can do is wait for your refund or for the IRS asking you for more info. You can try calling the IRS at 1-800-829-1040.
Do you get Social Security? A common problem this year is getting the wrong taxable amount of Social Security on 1040SR line 6b. If you get SS check last year's return. If you had an amount on line 6b but this year have 0, that is probably wrong.
Thank you very much! I have tried that number before and can only reach an automated system that apologizes for the delay in my refund. The SS issue is N/A to me.
