I've see this type of question asked before but haven't seen an appropriate response. On my first entry for deductions I entered my property and real estate tax. I get the message that I have maxed out my deduction for state and local taxes. My property tax was only 2400. Where did turbo tax get any deductions before I even entered them?

If you have already entered your Form W2 and there was state income taxes withheld, TurboTax automatically includes this as part of your itemized deductions.
Beginning on your 2018 Tax Return, you can only deduct a maximum of $10,000 for the combination of State, Local, Property, and Sales Tax deduction.
