On one of the HSA pages the phrasing is confusing for this... Did Brian inherit this HSA? It's not common, but we have to check. If you inherited this HSA from a spouse,

It's confusing because the answer is "no" I did not inherit it, but then the explanation says that if I "DID" inherit it to click "no"...?

Yes, it is confusing.  It's actually trying to clarify the question Did Brian inherit the HSA? by telling you If Brian inherited this HSA from a spouse then you can still answer "no."

In your case, just answer "no" and continue on.
