I did not know i could claim my sales tax on my vehicle in 2015 and 2016 i also paid for the same car in 2017. Can I claim sales tax from 2015-2017 on this tax return?

No, unfortunately each tax year is separate. You could amend your prior year returns if the amount made it worthwhile.

Thank you, what would you consider worth it? Also, Sales tax is the same thing as interest correct? that is what my bank gave me.

Sales tax is what you pay when you purchase the car.If you itemized and it was a fair amount of money then yes. If you paid registration fees (a yearly expense), then probably not.

I did not pay out anything when I bought it except a small down payment. Everything was financed.

Look on your sales ticket. The amount of sales tax will be on it. It is usually a long carbon copy pink?? form. It all counts for the year of purchase. You are considered to have bought the car at that time, even if you are making payments.

oh okay, so if i purchased the car in 2015 i can not claim what I have paid on it in 2017 even if i never claimed it in 2016 or 2015 i would have to do an amend? I am sorry I am new to this and want to ensure I understand it correctly.
