Does Honda Odyssey over 6000 pound qualifies under s179 for equipment deductions ?

Yes, a Honda Odyssey does qualify for the 179 Deduction.

To qualify, the vehicle needs to have been placed in service in 2017, and not have been used for personal use prior to being placed in service.  It also needs to be used for more than 50% of business to qualify for the section 179 deduction.  You can claim up to 50% of cost of the vehicle if used 100% of time for business

With new tax laws, vehicles placed in service after September 27, 2017 can claim a 100% deduction for vehicles used 100% for business.

If the vehicle was used for personal purposes, you can still claim a depreciation deduction for the business use starting in 2017.
