Year after year, it transfer the information and still asked questions such as did you get a refund. What's the point of using the software if it can't determine that?

The program knows what you entered. However, it does not know if any changes were made by either the IRS or state.

**Say "Thanks" by clicking the thumb icon in a post
**Mark the post that answers your question by clicking on "Mark as Best Answer"

If it's asking if there are changes, then that should be the question and the last year amount should already be listed with the option to change it.
